Scooters For Sale
There is a limited number of vintage scooters here in Maine for me to find and
restore.  Please check back here to see what is the works for sale this spring.

I do keep a list of folks looking for scooters.  Send me an email with some
information of what you are looking for.  When I find one, I will let you know.

I am a scooter enthiusiast first and foremost.  If you find a scooter somewhere
else, feel free to contact me to give you my two cents on it's value.  In fact,
further down on this page I list a few sites in which you might start looking.

PLEASE READ THIS BIT ABOUT BUYING A SCOOTER

The US market is being flooded by scooters restored in Asia (India and Vietnam).
These scooters have a terrible reputation for very shoddy workmanship that leads
to a very dangerous scooter.  In fact, they are so dangerous that
NO REPUTABLE
SCOOTER SHOP
will work on them.  If you buy one of these very pretty looking
death traps, you will find it doesn't work for very long and no one will fix it.

If these were good scooters, every scooter shop in the US would be selling them.
The only people selling them are people trying to make a fast buck.  The sell a
bunch of them, then close up shop.  You are left holding onto a $4000 boat
anchor.  I have started a gallery of scary scooters
here

Here is another GREAT resource at scoot.net
1979 Vespa 50 Special
SOLD
I have owned over 20 scooters and
never one with original paint and body
in condition as good as this one.

There are some nics and scratches but
95% of this paint looks like a new paint
job and it's 28 years old!!

This is a small frame style Vespa that
originally had a 50cc engine top end. In
many states you do not need a
motorcycle endorsement for vehicles
50cc and under.

I replaced the top end with a 100cc kit,
and changed the gearing to increase
the power and top speed  I also
installed a better exhaust.

It has new tires, new inner tubes, and
a new battery.

I have rebuilt the carburetor and the
clutch.

This 29 year old Vintage Vespa looks in
near new condition and runs very
reliable.  You would be buying a
scooter made of steel in Italy, not a
cheap plastic imitation.
