Converting a Femsatronic CDI to a Ducati CDI
ISome folks tire of trying to figure out their femsatronic ignition or they just have a hard time finding a replacement. One solution is to swap out the Femsatronic CDI and replace it with a Ducati CDI. This was original described on a website calles "Horta Das Vespa" that I cannot locate.
I wasn't exactly clear on how to wire it up so I asked a Vespa Rally guru (Kristian Storli of Bar Italia Classics) to help out
Green wire from stator to the Red Terminal,
Red wire from stator to the Green terminal,
Black wire from stator to the White terminal
then cap and stow the Blue wire (or remove it and the condenser that it is attached to on the stator side, as the Ducati CDI has its own condenser inside the box).
This works for many but not everyone. I found two people that came up with the same solution. You need to add a Capacitor and Resistor.

Jon Scott's Solution
Here is a photo of the 1k Ohm resistor with a 4.7uF capacitor in parallel , covered in a few layers of heat shrink tubing for insulation and durability.

Jan Haugsted's solution
Jan uses a 1K ohm resistor and a 1uF ceramic capacitor is mounted on a circuit board glued to the Ducati CDI. Click HERE to be directed to his website.
